!±8± Finding the Right Replacement Lawn Mower Blades

The blades on your lawn mower are one of the parts that will need to be replaced most often; especially if you use it a lot.  There are only so many times you can sharpen mower blades until they are no longer effective at helping you maintain a well-groomed lawn.  The good news is that this particular part is pretty cheap to replace.  So, how do you know what kind of replacement lawn mower blades you need and where you do find them?  That's a valid question that deserves a valid answer.  Here are some examples of brands, sizes and types of mowing blades to help guide you when you need to find these replacement parts.

Since there are so many makes and models in lawn mowing equipment, we will cover a few brands and blades as examples for informational purposes.

Cub Cadet - The models made by Cub Cadet include walk-behind, self-propelled, zero-turn, riding and mowers of all kinds for residential, commercial and industrial use. The self-propelled mulching Model CC 550 SP would need replacement blade part#942-0739 which is a mulching blade.

Toro - Toro produces lawn and garden equipment for commercial, residential and industrial use as well.  The Toro homeowner's models 20092 and 20066 are recycling mowers. Part#59535- 21" is a recycler blade that would work for these models.

Kubota - Kubota makes tractors, mowers, construction equipment and utility vehicles that can handle many different types of jobs.  The Kubota GR2010G and GR2110 residential mower models require blades replacement part# K5575-97530. This is a kit of three blades.  As a side note:  Most Kubota lawn tractors are capable of doing more than mowing lawns.  They have many handy attachments for year-round yard work.

Depending on the type of mowing equipment you own, replacement lawn mower blades may or may not have to be genuine parts from the manufacturer.  You can review your owner's manual or look at one online to determine if there is a generic replacement blade option for your equipment if you want to save a few extra bucks.

The best way to find the type of replacement blade you need is to read online reviews and check the ratings on them to see if this part will work with your lawn mower.  It's pretty simple to find replacement lawn mower blades by researching them online.  Remember to have your mower model and/or blade part number ready when doing research on replacement lawn mower blades.
